SUFFERING – serious pain which someone feels in their body or their mind; physical or mental pain that a person is feeling
It is important to trust God’s purposes in the midst of suffering, even when we don’t know what those purposes are. Suffering, like all other human experiences, is directed by the sovereign wisdom of God. In the end, we learn that we may never know the specific reason for our suffering, but we must trust in our sovereign God. That is the real answer to suffering.
Scripture: Romans 5:3-4
“More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.”
Saying:
“To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.”
–Friedrich Nietzsche
