SCRIPTURE – a body of writings considered sacred or authoritative; any writing or book, especially when of a sacred or religious nature
Scripture is divinely inspired. This means that God was involved in every detail that was recorded and written. It is God-breathed, and it is life’s final and ultimate authority. The Bible is the “last word” on issues pertaining to God and His will. No individual, institution, or organization can supersede the authority of Scripture. Likewise, the Bible is God’s guide to salvation and wise living. The psalmist wrote, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).
Scripture: Psalm 33:4
“For the word of the Lord is upright, and all His work is done in faithfulness.”
Saying:
“Nobody ever outgrows Scripture; the book widens and deepens with our years.”
— Charles Spurgeon
