Word of the Day: Baptism

BAPTISM – a ceremonial immersion in water, or application of water, as an initiatory rite or sacrament of the Christian church

“I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” With those 18 words, we become members of our Church, children of God and heirs to the kingdom of heaven. How important is baptism? Quite simply, it is necessary for salvation. John 3:5 states, “Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.”

Scripture: Acts 2:38

“Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Saying:

“Baptism is bowing before the Father and letting him do his work.”
