Help a Girl Out, Please (Demographics Survey)

Who are you?

Really that is such a strange way to start a blog post. But who are you my wonderful readers? Tell me a bit about yourself! If you would, please click on the link below and fill out my survey. I will have no idea who fills out what so be assured that your information is totally confidential.

I really need to know pretty please and I can’t afford to give away any super duper prizes on this so please accept my humble thanks.

It’s easier than falling down. I promise.

*Update: Wendy asked two good questions in the comment section. I’ll post them here just in case you too are wondering!

“Kelly,
Just came by and completed your survey. How is the information going to be used? There wasn’t a space for answering “why” I’m following or coming to your blog, though you said that’s one of the purposes of it, so I’m going to answer that here. I’m just wondering why you needed people’s income levels and education.” -Wendy

Here is my answer, in short: “a) I want to know who is reading my blog and why. I did not put in an option to answer why in the survey as I assumed that people would leave that in the comments. Next time I’ll make sure to add that in.
b) I am compiling my much needed media kit. I have advertisers often email and ask to purchase ad space. I need to have something to give them as far as stats go. The income and education questions are merely to give advertisers and sponsors an idea as to who reads my blog.”

My wondiferous survey is only a click away!

  1. Hey friend! I wanted to give you a quick tip on giveaways, for the future. :)
All you have to do is ask :) Many publishers are willing to donate books for giveaways.
I did a series on child training some months back and I was promoting a book that I already owned and loved. I thought I’d take a chance and email the author to ask if she’d be willing to donate a copy for a giveaway on my blog and in return I’d do a review on it. She agreed! It was that easy!
All you have to do is let them know how they benefit and also be sure it is a product you truly love, because your readers can tell and they totally take your opinion highly :) And it doesn’t have to be a book. It can be anything. Just email the company, and simply ask. The worst they can say is no. ((Hugs)) :)

    • That’s a great tip, Christin! I have done this before and it has blessed my socks off when companies have gone the extra mile to help a little ol’ blogger like me out. :-)

I am actually glad I am not going to hold a giveaway attached to this. A giveaway might not give me the most accurate survey results.

  2. Kelly,
Just came by and completed your survey. How is the information going to be used? There wasn’t a space for answering “why” I’m following or coming to your blog, though you said that’s one of the purposes of it, so I’m going to answer that here. I’m coming to your blog because I see in you someone who loves the Lord and is wanting to use her blog for Christ, to change lives and make a difference in others’ lives for eternity. I love your heart, Kelly. You have a lot of wisdom for a young woman.
I pray that you keep on asking God to write your blog through you, and to allow Him to bring those that He chooses, as He chooses, or doesn’t. I want to remember, as you said so wisely, that it’s not about being popular, but about being the woman God made and wants you to be, the woman He can speak through to others, in the unique way that only you can be.
God Bless You, Kelly, as you serve Him through your blog.

    • Wendy,

First of all, thank you so much for your wise counsel and kind words. Those kinds of comments to my posts make me realize the blessings of true Christian friendship!

Secondly, you ask a very good question. I apologize that I did not explain as well as I should have in my original post asking for demographics. My short answer is this:

      a) I want to know who is reading my blog and why. I did not put in an option to answer why in the survey as I assumed that people would leave that in the comments. Next time I’ll make sure to add that in.
      b) I am compiling my much needed media kit. I have advertisers often email and ask to purchase ad space. I need to have something to give them as far as stats go. The income and education questions are merely to give advertisers and sponsors an idea as to who reads my blog.

      Thanks, Wendy!

      • @Kelly, Thanks, Kelly–I appreciate the response. Another question and praise of your blog: You are putting many new graphics elements into your blog which I really like. How do you do the quotations in larger font within a box off to the side, etc. These elements really add interest! I would love to learn more on how to do these “tricks.”
Oh! and I agree, “snow is so p-u-r-t-y,” (we get a lot of it usually in Minnesota, though not so much the last years) and reminds one of the fact that God has created each one of us absolutely uniquely, like a snowflake! And that “though our sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow.”
        Blessings!
        Wendy

  3. Kelly, just took your survey. Maybe a note for next time, remember that not everyone has kids. I don’t have any, but the survey says I have 1 because that was the lowest option. Although 1 may be semi-accurate for me, since I do nanny and babysit a lot. I use kid tips just as much as any parent lol.

    • Thanks, Morgan. I can’t believe I didn’t have an option for no kids. :-( Fixing that now and will definitely keep it in mind for next time! Thanks for being patient with me.
