Tapestry of Grace and Young Children – Part One

Ever since my review on Tapestry of Grace, I have received many questions asking “Is it possible to use Tapestry of Grace with young children?” Or, “Why would I use Tapestry of Grace with young children when there are so many other simple and less expensive options.” My simple answer is yes! it is very easy to use Tapestry of Grace with little ones. And to the second question, you will find my answer in this series of posts.

What is Tapestry of Grace? Very simply put, it is a classical, chronological home education curriculum in which the whole family is learning from a particular historical era at the same time. (For a good idea of what classical education is, you can visit Trivium Pursuit or The Well-Trained Mind)

Why was Tapestry of Grace created? Many of my readers are mothers of many little ones. Many of my readers are home educators, as well. I know you can relate when I say that home educating these little ones can be overwhelming. Marcia Somerville experienced this as well and was intimidated by the myriads of subjects she had to teach on many different levels. It was too much! It needed to be more than that. She desired them to grow up in wisdom and able to face with godliness what the world would have us believe is right and good.

And so Tapestry of Grace was born.
